This is the first blog post of 2016! I thought long and hard about what the blog post should be about but the longer I thought, the longer it took to write. I realized I could be thinking about it forever and never actually write anything (which I’ve been guilty of doing in the past). So without over thinking it, I decided to just get to it.
I’m excited for 2016. Like most people, I strive to get my sh*t together in the new year. I strive to make 2016 better than 2015. And 2015 was pretty damn great so I expect big things from this year.
I try not to make New Year’s Resolutions. Because from past experience, they don’t work. We all start out strong but then something happens after 2 or 3 weeks. And it’s impossible to get back on the wagon. Until the following year of course!
So I make goals. Goals are attainable. Goals are worth striving for and are important to have. Not lofty- I want to lose 15 lbs (which I do) and travel more (which I do) but real goals with a plan to reach them. Goals are specific, measurable, attainable, and have a deadline of some sort.
My goals for 2016:
1.Travel 2,016 miles in 2016 by foot (walk/hike/run).
2. Work on my personal yoga practice at least 3-4 times a week.
3. Leave my phone alone at meal times.
4. Spend 2-4 extra hours a week working on my studio/business.
These are all attainable goals. I want to be more engaged, be outside more, and focus my energy on things that make me happy. I figure these three goals are steps in the right direction.
So I’m going to switch gears completely and share a recipe as well. It’s been ages since I’ve posted a recipe. Seems like the 1st blog post of the year is a good time to do it. Maybe it’ll set the foundation for me to share more this year! 😉
I present my new favorite salad.
This salad rocked my world. I’ve been thinking about it since I made it. It would be a crime NOT to share it. It comes together super quick and is sure to leave you wanting more.
