The past couple of weeks have been a little hard for me. I got some news that has changed my little world. I am learning to deal with the news and plan on sharing really soon. Before I share though, I want to get used to it on my own. Good news? I am learning to let go of what needs to be let go of and open my mind to new things.
Enough with the cryptic messages, let’s talk about my favorite topic: furbabies! I love a good animal story, especially when Nala gets to be apart of it.
Meet Marx (yes I am a sociology nerd and named her after Karl Marx), now known as CJ (a much better suited name for her).
Isn’t she the absolute cutest?
The hubs found her a few weeks ago on a Friday and she followed him all the way home. He couldn’t leave this adorable little face outside so she was welcomed into our home while we searched for her owners. We checked the humane society. We checked craigslist. We asked around. No one claimed the pooch and no one was looking for her.
We started contemplating keeping her. She go along well with Nala and even Captain didn’t seem to mind her. But reality set in and having 3 furbabies while in grad school? Not the smartest move.
We decided that we were going to have to take her to the shelter if no one claimed her. Like I said, he found her on Friday and we were going to give it until Tuesday morning.
Needless to say we fell head over heels with her. Well I did. Damir really didn’t care for her chewing on his plants but he thought she was adorable none-the-less. We got to a place mentally on Monday (the day before she was supposed to be taken to the shelter) where we figured we could make it work. Maybe she could stay after all.
But then something even better happened. My friend Anna decided she would be willing to take her for a few days and see how she fit into her home. If her cat got along with her and Marx seemed to fit in, Anna would keep her.
D-money and I saw a clean escape: Marx would get a good home, our friend would have a great companion and we would still get to see Marx.
And just like we fell in love with Marx, so did Anna. She renamed her CJ (some Law and Order reference I think?) and the rest is history.
And as expected, Nala and CJ get to hang out all of the time. Cj is spending the weekend with us while her mama goes on a Chicago trip and these too pups couldn’t be happier.
